2. Do you upgrade the Walabot app over time?
The Walabot app is constantly being upgraded, with new capabilities and features. Our latest upgrade differentiates and identifies wooden studs, metal studs and labels them, making it even clearer the objects behind your wall. In addition we released map mode to give you a visual overview of large sections of your wall.
3. What materials can it see through and what depth?
Walabot can see through concrete, drywall and wood. It detects studs (wooden and metal), pipes, wires and movements from rodents or large anomalies like termite nests. It detects up to 4 inches in depth.
4. What is USB On The Go (OTG) and how do I know whether my phone has OTG?
OTG is a specification that allows phones to act as hosts (i.e. power an external device such as Walabot). OTG is dependent upon hardware, so if you are unsure whether your phone supports OTG, email us your phone model and we can let you know! (provide [email protected] email as a link). Most Android phones released in the last 2 years have OTG.
5. How do I know my phone's operating system?
The operating system can be found in your device’s settings. Tap “About Phone” or “About Device” and then tap “Android Version” to see your operating system. Walabot requires Android 5.0 or above.
6. What is included with Walabot DIY?
Walabot DIY comes with a micro-USB cable, a USB Type C cable, a Gel-Pad to attach Walabot to your phone, and a sticker that affixes to Walabot to prevent scratching the walls.
7. What is the refund policy?
Within 14 days of receiving your Walabot you may return it for a full refund. If you wish to return your unit, please email us at [email protected].
8. What is the difference between the Walabot Maker versions and Walabot DIY? Why is the price so much higher for the Developer kit?
The Walabot Developer, Creator and Starter use the Walabot SDK, and are mainly intended for developers to create different types of custom applications. Walabot DIY is a dedicated tool for in-wall imaging, and is intended for use in remodeling, home improvement and similar projects that require seeing into walls. Walabot Developer is the only model that allows developers to build custom applications in addition to accessing the in-wall imaging app.
9. Does Walabot work on tablets?
Walabot is not currently recommended for use with tablets.
10. Is the Walabot compatible with iPhone? When will it be?
